Poem: "Crown of Thorns"

"Crown of Thorns"

The man from Nazareth
born of Mary
but not of man

Calmed the storm
near Lake Galilee
cast out demons
and healed the sick

Fed the 5,000
on the mount
with a couple loaves
and fish

Peter
the rock
denied Him
three times

John
the beloved
followed Him
to the end

Judas
the betrayer
dipped his hand
in the same bowl
and sealed His fate
with a kiss

Son and carpenter
healer and prophet
Messiah
Lamb of God

If the day on Calvary comes to pass
and the faithful are shaken
let them find strength in His agony
and comfort in His last breath

Christ
the Lord
break the chains
of bondage

From the crown of thorns
that wound my forsaken heart
as temptation seethes within
strike down the Tempter

With the power
of thine mighty arm
and flaming sword.

Poem: "Vox"

"Vox"

the leeches and the damned
are coming out of
the woodwork
tonight

as you lie in bed
sleep evades you
as fickle as
the wind

the window is open
as the cool air
forces you awake

the moonlight
illuminates your face
look up to the sky

as the star streaks
in the quiet expanse of sky
as you reach for me

I am no more

and you are left
in a fetal position
on the floor

as a feeble scream
barely escapes
from the depths
within

never heard

this former beauty
and its stirring drama
as the phone rings

the last words you hear:

"it's fucking gone."

Poem: "You Can Call Me Anytime"

"You Can Call Me Anytime"

Take my hands
walk the funeral in the rain
make no unfortune demands
lest you end up like the insane

Knock, knock
what's that you're saying
my soul's at ease
I've never worn a purple frock
don't know the con you're playing
watch out don't catch a sexually transmitted disease

Kiss me once in red
the world is open wide
time for school
someone just died
She's no one's fool

The dawn is breaking
life is in bloom
cast your vote
your faith, you are forsaking
chase the gloom
on the last note.

Poem: "The Niche"

"The Niche"

NYC temple
using in vitro
we are going to cut
harbinger of doom

ex current pension obligations
stinging blow
Senate votes
scallop boat

behind the scenes
swine flu
47 million years
practical advice

made it home
magic turn
Catholic probe

keep your nose
citing moral obligations
pets vow to attack
Snake River salmon

on the edge
desert on foot
endangered Craigslist
assisted foreclosure personals

I'm generally slow
new fencing border agents
don't ask, don't tell

still dazzling
primate Georgia
unveiled firm demands
20 to 30 civilians
allegedly are feared

I was being sarcastic
wildcat
potent
1940 coupons

lovers know
nerds are sexy
hope nobody's watching
broken glass

waiting for
ancient pet
5th grade
crocodiles.

Poem: "Into Dust"

"Into Dust"

I wish I never saw the sunshine
fame
need you tonight
boys don't cry

fire woman
dancing in the street
bittersweet symphony
buffalo stance

like a feather
flowers on the wall
rebel rebel
let her cry

rehab
cold as ice
careless whisper
songbird
I've got you under my skin
Steve McQueen.

Poem: "FML"

"FML"

@FrenchTwizzler009 reports
the other day
some dude got robbed
that wasn't in his house. #what

@greenbehindthegills
complained
that the strawberry preserves
were rotten tasting out of the jar. #wth

@bombasticraygun
informed the world
that he was incontinent
after colonoscopy
and shit himself 12 times. #eww

@exotictreelimb
extolled the virtues
of oversized denim
and neon posters. #hohum

@XYZ123
was quick to exclaim
that Catholic soldiers
disdained from undergarments
during the Crusades. #shock

@VensaMenuG
sparred with her husband
over who made a sexier
spaghetti bolognese. #yummy

@MachinaInspid
declared Twitter a catalyst
for the moral degradation
in the 21st century. #wtf

In the end, the best parts are used
and the better parts are thrown away
left in the dust of the glittering Twitter Nation
in 140 or less
the countdown has begun

"What are you doing today?"

I'll be outside
taking a drag
from my last
remaining cigarette

Fuck my life.

Poem: "Dashboard Confessions of a Twitter Addict"

"Dashboard Confessions of a Twitter Addict"

the smoke has cleared
as blood and dust
cover the floor

the dolls sit silently
watching the deluge unfold
in the awful propensity
of uncovered motives

the computer screen blinks
and bleeps
as the nameless connect
to their inner Bill Gates

if I have ever felt the
push and pull
to undress my innermost
thoughts and desires

do it in 140 characters or less.
