Poem: "The Warning Label"

"The Warning Label"

dear _______,

It begins like a dance
maybe he didn't know
how to keep moving in time
looked like he was

Antonio Banderas with two left feet
poor bastard
you should have seen the look
of horror on his face

The way he could do the splits
should be outlawed
except if you're gay or a woman

he called me again tonight
left like forty messages on my cell
and a dozen roses on the doorstep

to my apartment, my God
did he manage to get a key?

no, no, no
the impetus to stay
must not infere with rational indecision
some guys just don't get it

what fun is it to give in, so easy
when all this girl wants to do is
get ahead?
