"Breathe Again"
The warmth of sunlight
on your perfect skin
the way your eyes light up
when they gaze into mine
the moment of forever
as I lay here next to you
The small things we share
words left unsaid
as you sleep your arms
draped across my naked chest
A small sigh of contentment escapes
and for the first time in a while
I can breathe again.

Poem: "Trace"
"Trace"
Forever is a desperate lie
that we tell ourselves
to try and fix the million pinpricks
threatening to burn our corneas
This almost was
is nothing
but a boiling pot
of disappointment
The quiet darkness
that pierces my restless underbelly
of well-intentioned self-loathing
is the only real thing I have left
To cling to
amidst the deafening roar
of the tides
rising in my bleeding ears
As I lie motionless on the ground
waiting for you to deliver
the mortal blow.

Poem: "Only We"
"Only We"
The stars in all their glory
dance in the sky
above us
As my hand trembles
caught in the moment
as I take yours
without a word
I wanna hold you
like a second skin
I wanna drink you
like wine
I wanna sing along
to the chorus
of our beating hearts
watching the leaves drift off
in the wind
I long for the time
where your kiss
will linger upon my lips
and nothing remains
Only we and where we
were always meant to be.

Poem: "The Day That Never Was"
"The Day That Never Was"
The tears have nearly dried
the rays of the day sun has faded
whispers between the sheets
the heart has gone cold
As memories cling desperately
to the corners of the mind
I long to reach out
to find you beside me again
But the silence
is deafening
goodbye is nothing more
than a grinding of teeth
and clenching of fists.

Poem: "The Pages Torn"
"The Pages Torn"
The stones are no place
dawn has been exiled
by sultry dark
as the sky watches
in agony
The silence pervades
tiny corners of my mind
as I close my eyes
these hands reach out
to hold onto
what's left of you and I
These words
are all that remain behind
old pages torn
stained with tears and regret
The beauty that was once shared
between us is as distant a memory
as the tides that crash and die against
the bleeding shore
at final light.

Poem: "Losing"
"Losing"
Empty coffee cup
stale air of defeat
pride is failing
death is so inviting
Gone are the days
when we were young
and life was so full of
dreams and yearning
Life is a shadow
of misguided steps
not so carefully taken
stumbling towards
finality
Reaching out for you
so far away now
as I close my eyes
wishing to be taken
Giving up seems like
such a perfect escape.

Poem: "Want To Be"
"Want To Be"
The one you wake up next to
every morning
the spring in your step
the song in your heart
The sky, the stars
and every beautiful thing
in the world
The thought that
you can't get out of your mind
the one desire you can't get enough of
The love that you've always wanted
These are just some of the things
I want to be for you
someday.

Poem: "The Light"
"The Light"
The warmth of sunshine on your bare skin
the way you lie against me
the shape of your smile
the scent of your perfume as it lingers in the air
long after you've gone
The emptiness now
makes my bones ache
and the memories of
unbridled need and passion
ended too soon
Your breath
as the light shines
one final time
and eternity embraces you
like a long lost lover
As I watch silently
my heart breaks
into a million
pretty little fragments.

Poem: "In The Waning Hours"
"In The Waning Hours"
Where the emptiness fades
and the stink of alcohol subsides
long enough for one final
blood curdling howl
The memory of the deceased sun
is replaced by the cold fingers
of restless night
Like a vulture, it will stalk you
and wait in the shadows
ready to sink its teeth
and drink the marrow
of your lovely despair
And in the waning hours
as life escapes and the blood
paints the awful ground
nothingness will rush to embrace you
like a long lost mistress.

Poem: "A Desperate Man"
"A Desperate Man"
I'm falling in and out
towards the inescapable reality
that is my fading inhibition
if these words are all I have
I pray that you stop a moment
to indulge my idiosyncracy
Your mouth is a veil
I long to penetrate
yet the stars have not yet
revealed their true disdain
If I cannot possess the secret
to your womanly depths
I'd rather stay here
and quietly long for you
As the night comes slowly
to envelop my lovely pain
in her shadowy embrace.

Poem: "You Don't"
"You Don't"
You don't see the pain that hides
beneath the soft smile from the
corners of my mouth
You don't feel
the regret I cling to
in my most private moments
You don't know
the hell I would go through
just to have you
to call my own
But what you do know
may end up hurting us both
more in the end
Adieu, sweet demise of mine.

Poem: "Remembering The Horses"
"Remembering The Horses"
Cold sweat
awoken suddenly
from the empty nothing
gnawing at my insides
Staring into the distance
the wind howls
erasing traces of what was
revealing the lie
hiding beneath
all those years ago
Cut me deep
let me go
allow the pain to consume
as the devils in my head
laugh in derision
The final memory left
was the music of your voice
that faded smile
as the rain wept in silence
I remember the cry
of beautiful horses
as they lie
on the cold earth
dying.

Poem: "The Lines That Do Not Fade"
"The Lines That Do Not Fade"
Red splotches on the floor
arms spread wide
silence choking the air all around
dusty walls watch in unabated weak
The words tumble slowly
chest heaving
lips tentatively parted
a final gesture
Eyes nod toward
a door as it creaks open
memories depart with the wind
in one defiant, rumble
of regret
The lines that do not fade
echo with you
a haunting reminder
of what never was.

Poem: "Can't"
"Can't"
The silence of your gaze
as it penetrates my insides
your lips, taunt with longing
as a single breath escapes
Gingerly
can't let go
beyond the abyss
Into the fire
of snarling pain
and bliss..

Poem: "Sweet Demise"
"Sweet Demise"
If I ran my hands up the length of your dress
a subtle glance, a sweet caress
would you come to the door
is unspoken desire too much to ignore
Touch, kiss
your lips
my mouth
My hands
our bodies
your thighs spread
desire beckons like a siren
as we succumb
Your love is my sweet demise.
