"140"
You have lied
stolen my innocence
broken my heart
as the autumn leaves
fall slowly to the ground
I wake to the new day
the bed is empty
the fragrance of you
lingers on the pillow
it has been days
since you left
this room
this tiny
fragile space
has become nothing
devoid of warmth
and need
in the aftermath
of love's passing
will you still
hold me against
the wind
only to save me
from the inevitable
unraveling?
