The shadow
of the night
illuminates
the corners
of my deliberate mind
sleep comes and goes
like a phantom
waiting to rip
my insides to shreds
taunting me
tempting me
pushing me
towards the edge
of the abyss
as my heart stops
a fateful moment
if you the skies
thunder and rain
may you not shield
your eyes
from the beautiful ocean
your fucking lies have become
my sweetest decline.
